Calling ALL Arcadia Patriots!

The Arcadia "Parade" began in 1996 when Johanna Boslin and her family planted flags in her neighbor’s yards on the 4th of July. Bud Katz called to thank her. “The flags looked so beautiful, flapping in the breeze. Now, all we need is a parade.” Neighbors handed out homemade fliers to let everyone know there would be a parade! 2011 will be the 16th year!

Bring your creative best...pets, decorated bikes, wagons, trikes, baby strollers, go-carts, antique cars, floats, and YOU!  Senator Tom Smith will serve as Grand Marshall to lead the Military Order of the Purple Hearts, American Legion Color Guard, and Scottsdale Trombone Choir for another patriotic Arcadia 4th of July!

This year, the parade is dedicated to Diana Balazs, longtime journalist and friend of Arcadia. 16 months ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with Diana.  To learn more, please click here to read Laurie Roberts wonderful column about Diana.
